Green is the prime color of the world, and that from which its loveliness arises.
 Now-a-days, the current space crunch has necessitated transforming little patches of balconies into green space of the house.So, whether you are sitting outside for a cuppa or just to feel the breeze, a little hint of green would just increase the pleasure. But, the problem is most of us are not confidant what to pick and how to take care of the indoor plants.Here are few smart tips and let us go through it together:






Grow a Herb Garden

Herbs probably the easiest and the most useful plants to cultivate indoors.They decorated your indoor as a green element and also the best companion for a cook. There could be nothing better than using fresh herb while preparing a delectable meal. It's like "killing two birds with one stone". A pot near the window is ideal as growing herbs need plenty of light.There are around 40 to 50 of indian and other exotic herbs that you can choose from and it also depends upon the choice of cuisine. Among indian herbs come indian besil, curry leaves, ajwain, mints, lemongrass, black pepper etc. Other continental herbs could be rosemary, thyme, parsley, oregano etc.







BONSAI

Though an expensive option than the other indoor plants but very beautiful, bonsai is a Japanese method of miniaturising trees.Even a single piece of tthis category can add class to your decor.These are grown in suitable pots and the effect is brought about by pruning , shaping, and starving them. Bonsais of jades,ficus pandas etc work well indoors.However, bonsai are not easy to grow at home, but you can take the easier route and buy a ready one from outside. The very commonly used is bamboo shoot but there are lot more to choose from.






SUCCULENTS

They are the best plants for the forgetful gardeners; easy to grow with little care, having fat leaves and stems that can retain water. Plus, they look fabulous standing alone or combined with other. The variety of colors is endless like  blue-green, yellow, purple, red, white, burgundy and almost black; make them perfect for indoor plants category. All cacti comes in this category only, if you like cactus. All succulents like humid and warm conditions found in most homes ; easily adaptable to low lights.


NURTURE INDOOR PLANTS

Almost anything can be used as a pot with a hole in the bottom depending upon the style and budget.
Buy potting soil from a local nursery instead of using garden soil; it is a mix of peat moss,vermiculite and often decomposed organic matter. Water the container and maintain the moisture level, occasionally show sunlight and enjoy your indoor garden.
